Warning Message:The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for a wintry mix...which is in effect from 8 PM this evening to 5 PM EST Wednesday. A wintry mix will produce slippery travel tonight through Wednesday. Light snow is expected to overspread the Oswego County later this evening. The light snow will begin to mix with sleet and freezing rain by late tonight. On Wednesday a mix of snow... sleet...and freezing rain will change mainly to freezing rain... especially over western and southern sections of the County. Snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected...with 4 to 6 inches possible across the Tug Hill. Ice accumulations of up to a tenth or an inch are also possible. A Winter Weather Advisory is normally issued for a variety of winter weather conditions such as light snow...sleet and freezing rain. While the weather will be significant...the word advisory implies that severe winter weather is not anticipated. Roads will become slippery tonight and Wednesday.
